Members' Exhibition: Shot in the City of Port Phillip - October 2018

The aim of our project “Shot in the City of Port Phillip” is to create a photographic exhibition which will showcase the cultural diversity, heritage buildings and the many artistic and leisure activities which make the City of Port Phillip so vibrant. As one of the oldest areas of Melbourne, Port Phillip is known for its many dynamic urban villages, a foreshore which stretches for over 11km, cultural diversity, magnificent heritage buildings, artistic expressions and beautiful parks and gardens.

Thursday 20 September, no later than 11:59pm

EXHIBITION OPENING EVENT

Thursday, 18 October 2018 at 8pm

EXHIBITION DATES
Saturday, 20 October & Sunday, 21 October 2018 10am—4pm 

Saturday, 27 October & Sunday, 28 October 2018 10am—4pm

2. HOW TO ENTER

3. ENTRIES

  • Each member is invited to submit up to 10 images per person.
  • All imagery must be representative of the City of Port Phillip council area. Please refer to the Neighbourhood guide for mapped areas.
  • Changes to artwork or titles will not be accepted after entry forms and images have been submitted unless requested by the Exhibition Coordinators
  • Submitted images will be curated by the Exhibition Coordinators. Two groups of images selected; Printing and Projection.
  • Images chosen for printing will be printed and matted with funding from the City of Port Phillip.
  • Digital images will be projected in a dedicated room for the Exhibition
  • Artists with a series consisting of two or more images must provide instructions for their work.
  • This is a free exhibition.  There is no entry fee to enter.

4. SUBMITTING YOUR IMAGES

  • Submissions to be uploaded to the Melbourne Camera Club website using the Projected Digital Image Competition site
  • Images to be saved and uploaded as High Resolution jpegs
  • Please save imagery as follows:  
    • Max size 6480 x 4320 pixels, 20Mb file, sRGB colour space

5. PEOPLE'S CHOICE PRIZE

  • There will be a prize for a People’s Choice award for the 2018 Shot In The City of Port Phillip Photography Exhibition
  • The Artist’s work with the most votes, will be be awarded the winner of the People’s choice award.  
  • Every person who visits the exhibition is entitled to one vote. Multiple votes per person will not be valid. Only valid votes will be counted. 
  • People’s Choice Prize winner will be announced the following Thursday, after the final day of the exhibition, i.e.: the next Thursday General Meeting held at the Melbourne Camera Club.

6. EXHIBITOR INVOLVEMENT

  • Exhibitors are asked to help man the Exhibition over the two weekends it is open to the public. The opening hours are from 10 am to 4 pm. Please look out for the roster closer to the exhibition dates.

7. FURTHER CONDITIONS

  • The Melbourne Camera Club Exhibition Coordinator reserves the right to make selections for the exhibition that may be determined by available space.
  • All entries will be displayed (subject to space) unless deemed offensive, too fragile, dangerous or not ready for installation.
  • If you are photographing children, you must refer to protocols developed by the Australia Council (australiacouncil.gov.au) before entering your work
  • All care will be taken, however The Melbourne Camera Club will not be responsible for any loss or damage caused to the work, howsoever caused.
